Thank you for your interest in the volunteer program at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. Volunteers are regarded as in integral part of our team, helping fulfill our mission: To improve people’s lives through innovation in research, education and patient care.
The Medical Center Volunteer Program accepts volunteers for the following locations:
- University Hospital
- Supports Dodd Hall Rehabilitation Services and Outpatient Rehabilitation at Martha Morehouse Medical Plaza and OSU Harding Hospital
- Supports OSU Harding Hospital
- University Hospital East
- Ross Heart Hospital
- The James Cancer Hospital
The volunteer program has four components designed to accommodate the unique needs of different volunteers.

Adult volunteer (over 18 years of age, not currently an undergraduate student)
College volunteer (currently an undergraduate student)
High school volunteer (at least 16 years of age)
Patient-Family Experience Advisors (for current/previous patients or their primary caregivers)
Observation Hours (Students wanting to obtain observation hours for applications to Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy or Radiology programs should apply through our observation hours process, not the volunteer program)
