Dr. Gabbe talks about the results of the ONEvoice survey and next steps.
Bravo! That’s word that we use often here at the Medical Center through the BRAVO on-the-spot program. During fiscal year 2009, faculty and staff have given more than 192,000 BRAVO stamps to each other for bringing the Medical Center’s Key Results Areas – our KRAs - to life and for delivering personalized health care.
Don’t forget that the BRAVO On the Spot program begins anew each fiscal year in July. You should have received your new Bravo hangtag in the June letter from Pete Geier that was mailed to your home. And, completed BRAVO hangtags from this year’s program should be turned in to the Faculty and Staff Recognition Office in 155 Doan Hall no later than July 7. If you have any questions, please contact Faculty and Staff Recognition at 293-5899.
I’d like to offer a BRAVO to all of you who took part in the recent ONEvoice faculty and staff satisfaction survey. The results are now available, and I’ve read through our reports. I wanted to share a few highlights with you today.
The first are our strengths. You told us that you were proud of where you work. So much so, that you would recommend the Medical Center to a friend both as a great place to work and as a place to come to for healthcare services. To me, there are no better compliments than recommendations like these.
The survey also showed that our focus on improving your job satisfaction is paying off. In fact, this survey shows that we have already achieved our 2012 goal for your job satisfaction by reaching an 80 percent favorable score this year. While this is an exciting milestone to celebrate, we will continue focusing on your satisfaction to reach the next level.
The survey did reveal opportunities as well. Based on your feedback, we have the opportunity to continue developing our leaders, specifically focusing on their communication, their coaching and their listening skills. You also told us that you would like more opportunities to influence both policies and decisions that affect your work. You want to be able to give us your opinions before decisions are made that may impact your area.
You can expect us to act on your feedback as we continue to improve our workplace. Over the next few months, the leader in your area will share specific results as part of a feedback session. This meeting will give you and your leadership team an opportunity to talk about survey results and begin to create action plans.
You can also find more information on OneSource. And, if you have questions, please talk to your manager.
Together, we’ll make the Medical Center an even better place for all of us. Thanks again for all you do and have a great week.
