A friend of mine recently taught me to look at excessive guilt in a new way, suggesting that guilt was nothing but a sort of reverse pride. Having regret for what has happened is fine, but staying stuck in guilt has no place in the world, it only serves to keep us stuck! We shouldn’t make time in our day to condemn ourselves for the mistakes we have made. There is little purpose on focusing on guilt. We should invest our energy on what we can do today to make a better tomorrow!
