Laboratory Services 

At OSU Medical Center, laboratory technologists are involved in a wide range of critical services in detecting, diagnosing and treating patients throughout the medical center system. Because OSU Medical Center is a leader in research and technology all of our laboratories have state-of-the-art equipment.

As we continue to expand the clinical laboratories, our staff will be given the best possible resources to ensure the highest level of patient care.  Working in our labs you have the advantage of being at the forefront for technological advances in your field. Our laboratory was one of the first in the country to be completely robotic and first to have a second-generation Beckman-Coulter IDS total lab automation system.

Our lab technologists have virtually unlimited growth potential in specialized areas such as hematology, chemistry, microbiology, transfusion services and immunochemistry.  Lab techs at OSU Medical Center work with complex cases and rare diseases that they would not experience in many other hospitals. Working with leaders in every medical specialty, clinical laboratory technologists are surrounded by knowledgeable healthcare professionals providing an excellent learning experience.

Continuing Education
In addition to learning through peers and other professionals, continuing education opportunities are offered throughout the year to keep our staff current on the latest developments in laboratory protocols. 

Outpatient Setting
As the need for laboratory services grows, the laboratory department expands to meet this need with outpatient facilities that offer phlebotomy services as well as hematology, chemistry and coagulation testing.
