Researchers at The Ohio State University’s Nisonger Center are accepting participants for a study on children’s severe physical aggression and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Participants should be between the ages of 6 and 12 and diagnosed with ADHD, conduct disorder, or oppositional defiant disorder. The child must also show severe physical aggression and be off medication two to four weeks prior to the start of the study. The study involves a nine-week process, with a possible three-month extension and a one-year follow-up appointment. All participants will be given stimulant medication and training in parent intervention. For additional information on the study, contact Adrienne Austin at 614-292-7022 or Adrienne.Austin@osumc.edu.

OSU MEDICAL CENTER’S EMERGENCY DEPARTMENTS RECOGNIZED
The Ohio State University Medical Center’s emergency departments are among the best in the country according to HealthGrades, whose research examined mortality rates for patients admitted with eleven of the most common life threatening diagnoses. Ohio State’s Medical Center is one of 255 hospitals, nationally, and one of 37 hospitals in Ohio who had mortality rates low enough to recognize them with Emergency Medicine Excellence. HealthGrades studied the records of five million Medicare patient admissions at over 3,761 hospitals across the U.S. to find those who performed in the top five percent.
