COLUMBUS, Ohio – The OSU Harding Behavioral Health’s Stress, Trauma and Resilience (STAR) Program and the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services will be hosting a suicide prevention conference titled “Unnecessary Losses: Advancing Strategies for Suicide Prevention” on Friday, May 16 from 8 a.m.to 4 p.m. at the Ohio Union, 1739 North High Street.

Nationally recognized speakers that will be presenting at the Suicide Prevention Conference include:
  •  Matt Nock, PhD, Director, Laboratory and Clinical and Developmental Research, Professor of Psychology, Harvard University
  • Michael Hogan, PhD, Independent Advisor and Consultant, Hogan Health Solutions, LLC
  • John Campo, MD, Chair, Department of Psychiatry, The Ohio State University
  • Jeff Bridge, PhD, Principal Investigator, Center for Innovation in Pediatric Practice, Nationwide Children’s Hospital
The STAR Program, an initiative of The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center and OSU Harding Behavioral Health, improves lives by developing and delivering trauma-informed clinical services and educational programs to help those suffering the ravages of trauma and related mental illness. Centered on the Medical Center’s values of compassion and empathy, the program also contributes new knowledge on stress and resilience gained through cutting-edge research.
