COLUMBUS, Ohio – Carla S. Willis has been named assistant vice president for development at The Ohio State University Medical Center. In her new role, Willis will have development management responsibility for several units including heart, neurosciences, transplant, obstetrics and gynecology, women’s health, personalized medicine and sports medicine. Her appointment is pending approval by The Ohio State University Board of Trustees.

Willis joins Ohio State from Florida A&M University, where she is vice president of university relations and executive director of the FAMU Foundation, Inc. During her tenure, she successfully managed the university foundation and established the infrastructure to launch a $50 million comprehensive campaign for the university.
Willis has also served as principal gifts officer for the University of Toledo, senior consultant for John Brown Limited, Inc., director of development at Ohio Northern University, and a regional director for the University of Michigan Law School, in addition to owning a development consulting firm. Her development career began at the University of Missouri in 1991.
A graduate of the University of Toledo, Willis is an active member of the Council for Advancement and Support of Education and was selected in 2007 as one of 20 international participants in the Minority Advancement Institute, sponsored by CASE, is a former Board Member of CASE District V and was chair of the Committee on Equity (COE). # # #
