Biography:


John Hummel, MD, FACC, is the director of clinical electrophysiology research and a professor of clinical medicine at The Ohio State University Medical Center. Dr. Hummel was named one of America’s Best Doctors in 2008, 2009 and 2010.

Dr. Hummel earned his medical degree at the University of Virginia School of Medicine in Charlottesville, Va. He completed his residency in internal medicine and fellowships in cardiovascular medicine and cardiac electrophysiology at The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Md.

In addition, Dr. Hummel completed a visiting fellowship in cardiac electrophysiology at the University of Michigan Medical Center in Ann Arbor, Michigan where he also served as an assistant professor of medicine.

He has published a number of abstracts and peer-reviewed journal articles, as well as a textbook in electrophysiology. Dr. Hummel frequently speaks to national and international audiences on various topics in the field of cardiovascular electrophysiology.

He is a member of several professional societies, including the American Heart Association and the American College of Cardiology, as well as the Heart Rhythm Society. His specialty interest is electrophysiology.
