Specialized patient care at Talbot Hall blends state-of-the-art clinical techniques with proven methods of treating chemical dependency in patients and their families.

Talbot provides both inpatient detoxification and intensive hospitalization and outpatient treatments to adult and adolescent populations.

Talbot Hall has 26 beds and a full range of outpatient programs maintained by a fully-trained staff, which is supplemented by a large number of volunteers. Individual, confidential treatment is offered in a supportive environment by OSU Addiction Medicine specialists on staff around the clock.

Talbot Hall treats chemical dependency as a primary disease with its own causes, symptoms, course and treatment. The mission of the Department of Addiction Medicine at Talbot Hall in treating chemical dependency is made up of three key components: patient care, teaching and research.

To aid those in treatment, Talbot offers health education to the community in the area of addiction medicine. Talbot also supports research on chemical dependency issues and offers supervised clinical experiences to medical students, residents and other behavioral healthcare specialists.

One of Talbot’s most prominent educational programs the Annual Institute of Addiction Studies features cutting edge education for addiction counselors and care practitioners from around the country.

Since 1974, Talbot Hall has provided high-quality, comprehensive drug and alcohol addiction recovery services to central Ohioans. More than 50,000 patients have been treated here.
