Talbot Hall presents free (unless otherwise noted) breakfast education events every third Thursday between October and May from 7:30 a.m.-8:30 a.m. Programs are held at Wallace Auditorium.

Following the tremendous success of previous Institutes, Addiction Medicine at Talbot Hall and the Ohio Department of Alcohol and Drug Addiction Services will be presenting the Addiction Studies Institute August 6-8, 2008 at the Greater Columbus Convention Center in Columbus, Ohio. Providing the most current information in the areas of substance abuse, addiction and prevention, the Institute brings national and local experts together to further our understanding and skills for working with people affected by addiction. Continuing education is offered for physicians, psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, social workers, professional counselors, chemical dependency counselors and educators.
Keynote Speakers:
William Cope Moyers "carries the message" about addiction and recovery into the public arena, especially to policy makers and civic groups across America. Moyers is an award-winning journalist and a noted author in the addiction field.
James Prochaska, PhD, is best known for developing, in conjunction with Carlo DiClemente, the Stages of Change Model (Transtheoretical Model), which has been an important innovation in matching therapeutic interventions to a person's readiness to change unhealthy and self-destructive behaviors. He is the author of over 300 publications.
