The Ohio State University's James Cancer Hospital is a national leader in robotic surgery for gynecologic cancers. With 5 gynecologic oncologists performing robotic procedures, we are expected to complete approximately 1,000 major robotic surgical cases by 2010. Our group has published the largest series of research studies to date regarding patients with endometrial cancer undergoing robotic surgical staging, as well as 6 other reports on the use of robotic surgery for gynecologic cancers. Currently, we continue to prospectively investigate the role of robotic surgery for gynecologic cancer patients in multiple research protocols. Through our use of and research into robotic surgery for gynecologic cancers, the Division of Gynecologic Oncology at the Ohio State University will continue to be national leaders in the field.
