Referrals and Insurance

Self-referral is a strong tradition in complementary medicine. Patients are welcome to self-refer as allowed by health insurance plans or in cases where they are able and willing to cover services rendered out of pocket (cash/check or credit card).

Physician to physician referrals for traditional services are covered by most health plans. Referral to Center for Integrative Medicine (CIM) non-physician providers, such as acupuncturists, chiropractors and others may or may not be covered under some health plans in lieu of physical therapy or other services.

However, each health care plan is different, making it necessary for you to check with your health insurance provider before scheduling appointments at the CIM.
 
It is your responsibility to ensure each service and provider is covered by your insurance plan before making an appointment.

Charges not covered by health insurance providers will be the responsibility of the patient.
