Howard Sokolov, MD, Professor of Clinical Psychiatry in the Department of Psychiatry at The Ohio State University, was appointed the George T. Harding III, MD Endowed Chair in Psychiatry effective January 5, 2009. Dr. Sokolov will assume the position of Director of Psychotherapy Education in the Department of Psychiatry with responsibility for designing a broad psychotherapy curriculum, teaching and supervising residents and medical students, mentoring faculty and residents, and providing contributions to professional literature.
Dale Svendsen, MD, Associate Professor of Clinical Psychiatry in the Department of Psychiatry at The Ohio State University, was named Director of Public Psychiatry effective February 1, 2009. Dr. Svendsen is responsible for preparing new psychiatrists for practice within community psychiatry or in programs that can be impacted by an approach favorable to community psychiatry, specifically to address issues of co-morbid health and mental health issues within the population of Central Ohio.
