New Surgical Suite Treats Brain, Spinal Conditions Under One 'Roof'
Ohio State’s neurosurgeons now have all the tools at hand to successfully treat patients with brain and spinal conditions quickly and safely through our new minimally invasive endovascular and vascular surgical suite.
Endovascular treatments are routinely performed in an angiography suite within a hospital’s radiology department; however, if it is determined a patient needs surgery, he or she will immediately be transported from the angiography suite to an operating suite. The delay caused by having to move the patient from room to room, could result in a poor outcome for the patient and is less efficient for staff.
Ohio State’s new surgical suite offers the advanced imaging capabilities and sophisticated neurosurgical techniques in one room so that we speed up life-saving treatments for patients in the safest environment.
