About OSU Medical Center's Rehabilitation Program
OSU Medical Center offers a multidisciplinary and comprehensive approach to the treatment of our patients. Care begins when patients are initially injured and doesn’t end until they reach the highest level of independent function possible.
Our program specializes in acute care, brain injury, spinal cord injury, stroke and orthopaedics. We offer a full range of outpatient rehabilitation services where the goal is to help patients decrease pain and increase function.
Through our support services, patients, family members and caregivers learn how to live with a disease or injury and patients learn strategies to successfully return to their homes, workplaces, schools and their communities.
Our rehabilitation program has been ranked among the best in the country for 14 consecutive years, according to U.S. News & World Report. Our programs score above the national average in the level of independence patients achieve in self-care, mobility and cognitive thinking. OSU Medical Center’s pioneering rehabilitation research has helped advance patient care through new therapies and technologies.
Our programs meet the needs of individuals with a wide variety of brain injuries and are fully accredited the by Rehabilitation Accreditation Commission and the Joint Commission on the Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO).
