A Health Plan That Meets Your Needs

Not long ago, finding a health plan was easy – you simply enrolled in the plan your employer provided or the one the government offered. Now you have many different options to choose from – HMO, PPO, POS, Traditional Medicare, Medicare Supplement, Medicare HMO – the list goes on and on. No wonder you may be confused about what to choose!

Basically, you need to evaluate the plan based on what benefits it offers, how much it costs and most importantly, if the doctors and hospitals you prefer are part of the plan. After all, when you need care, you go to the doctor, not the health plan's office.

OSU Medical Center and the doctors who practice here participate in many health insurance plans. Obtain a current list of the plans University Hospital, The James and our Laboratory services participate in. (Because this list changes all the time, make sure to ask your doctor which he or she participates in before signing up for a new plan.)
