Patients receive outpatient care in the Infectious Diseases Clinic. Approximately 75 percent of our outpatients seek expertise in the field of HIV medicine, while 25 percent receive consultative care for other infectious diseases, sometimes as hospital follow-ups.
Our HIV-infected patients benefit from the presence of the on-site National Institutes of Health-funded AIDS Clinical Trials Unit, which includes our faculty, research nurses, a study pharmacist and other support staff as well as access to the latest multicenter clinical trials.
A representative of the AIDS Resource Center (ARC) is on call or a meeting can be scheduled, and phlebotomy is performed on site.
Consultation with other medical sub-specialties and support services such as nutrition, PICC line placement and routine X-rays are available in the clinic facility.
