OSU’s Department of Ophthalmology is seeking patients with diabetes who are about to have cataract surgery at the Ophthalmology Department at OSU. A clinical trial is being conducted to determine if an eye drop, administered prior to the surgery, will reduce macular swelling in persons with diabetes. To determine eligibility, interested individuals will be examined by an ophthalmologist as part of a screening visit prior to surgery. Then after the cataract surgery, there will be six follow-up visits that will take place over ninety days.
