The Department of surgery and college of medicine are conducting a study to evaluate the effects of wound tissue oxygen levels and stress on our ability to heal wounds.
Inclusion Criteria:
1) Age 18-69 years
2) Ischemic wound group= 25mmHg ≤ TcOM ≤ 35 mmHg or
saturated oxyhemoglobin < 45 hyperspectral imaging units.
3) Non- Ischemic wound group= ≥ 40 mmHg or saturated oxy-
hemoglobin <45 Hyperspectral imaging units.
4) Well controlled diabetes= Hemoglobin (Hgb) A1c < 8
5) Lower extremity wound present for at least 4 weeks prior to
study enrollment (prefer patients with wound vac)
