Posted 10/28/2009

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State University Medical Center has named Beth A. NeCamp (43065) its chief communications officer. She assumes the role she has held in an interim capacity since the summer of last year.

“Beth has been instrumental in guiding OSU Medical Center through a time of major organizational growth, change, and opportunity,” said Dr. Steven G. Gabbe, OSU Medical Center CEO. “I can think of no one better suited to continue leadership of our strategic marketing and communications efforts as we work to improve people’s lives through personalized health care.”

NeCamp has spent the majority of her career with Ohio State’s Medical Center, having been promoted five times since joining the Medical Center in 1992. As chief communications officer, she is responsible for strategic direction and leadership of the Medical Center’s marketing and communications functions, including external and internal communications, marketing activities, branding and creative services, media relations, development communications and marketing partnerships.

“Beth has already proven herself to be an invaluable asset to the Medical Center team,” said Peter Geier, OSU Medical Center chief operating officer. “We have benefited greatly from her marketing and communications savvy on major brand initiatives and internal communications tools that help us work more effectively together.”

At the Medical Center, NeCamp has been responsible for award-winning external and internal communications campaigns and has recently led H1N1 virus crisis communications efforts and the announcement of ProjectONE expansion plans.

Prior to joining OSU, NeCamp worked as a private sector marketing communications manager in Chicago. She earned her bachelor’s degree in journalism from Indiana University.

“I have been proud to develop my career with OSU Medical Center,” NeCamp said. “By constantly taking on new challenges, both the institution and I have grown together over the years. I’m looking forward to leading our team as we increase our national reputation and invest in the future through the Medical Center’s ProjectONE expansion initiative."

NeCamp lives in Powell with her husband, Mike, and two sons.
