High school students will be offered a variety of volunteer assignments to gain valuable insight into the hospital environment while providing an important service to the Medical Center. Student interests and availability are taken into consideration when determining assignments.

Opportunities:
Volunteers serve in three main ways: assisting staff in patient care areas, providing information and service to families and working in clerical or office capacities.
Commitment:
We request a minimum 20-hour commitment. Most volunteers commit to a three or four-hour shift per week. Day, evening and weekend shifts are available. In addition, there may also be project opportunities depending on your unique skills and interests.
What is required?
- 16 years of age at the start of volunteering
- Application, interview and orientation
- Teacher/guidance counselor reference
- TB (tuberculosis) skin test permission form, signed by an adult/guardian (if under 18 years of age)*
- Maybe additional screening/training based on assignment
- Criminal background check (if you receive an assignment)
- Purchase a high school volunteer uniform in the hospital gift shop for $20
